Job Description

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
25% - Orthopedic Bio-mechanics Lab Operations
- Coordinates operations and schedule by managing the lab calendar
- Maintains proper and safe work conditions in accordance with University’s Department of Environmental Health and Safety.
- Maintains records on equipment maintenance and/or calibrations
- Reports misuse of the bio mechanics lab to appropriate leadership
- Orders supplies and coordinates deliveries including cadaver specimens, equipment and lab consumables.
- Proactively communicates with those utilizing the lab on rules and conduct.
- Manages training of new lab users (trainees, post-docs, faculty, and staff) which includes basic laboratory safety, biohazard protocols, and specimen handling.

25% - Physical Therapy Technology Support
- Create and execute an overall plan for computer resources to prioritize purchases, establish roster of approved equipment and schedule for replacement or upgrading of equipment.
- Maintain adherence to computer security/encryption policies of AHC and University.
- Manage software purchases and approvals with the OGC. Maintain data base of approved software.
- Initiate computer purchases, and access to networks and file groups for new users.
- Assist end users with operating systems and general Microsoft applications
- Maintain computer equipment inventory and records.
- Assist with classroom technology and recording systems.

25% Physical Therapy Project Management
Manage and coordinate all aspects of facilities, equipment orders, moves, and renovations for the Division including:
- Manage office/space assignments.
- Oversee moves and renovations.
- Manage all space related expenses (i.e., computer and telephone service orders, furniture and equipment orders).
- Process telecommunications and facilities management requests.
- Equipment disposal/salvage.

25% Physical Therapy Labs Support
- Act as the Lab safety officer for the Division of Physical Therapy
- Ensure all research funds are spent according to University policy.
- Assist with outfitting and maintaining labs: specify, oversee installation, and test new equipment for research labs; assist with maintenance, calibration, and repair of lab equipment and tools as needed; provide training in proper use of equipment and tools.
- Ensure adequate supply support by purchasing all lab and shop supplies via Electronic Financial System purchase order or credit card.
- Maintain storage records, including inventory of content in boxes and destruction dates prompting review of files as needed.
- Develop and review department emergency protocol and serve as Building Emergency Plan Representative.

In this position, you are considered an Essential Employee. Essential Employees are expected to report to work during a University State of Emergency (reduced operations or campus closure) unless specifically directed by the Department not to report, or if directed by civil emergency or medical authorities not to report for health and safety reasons.

This position will be on-campus and then potential hybrid once orientation is completed.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS in an engineering discipline, computer science, or related field with at least 4 years of experience, or advanced degree plus 2 year of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 8 years.
- Demonstrated project management and leadership skills.
- Ability to coordinate work with University processes, regulations, best practices and performance standards
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary projects.
- Ability to communicate and work closely with team members in a research setting.
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple, significant, projects and duties.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; detail-oriented, strategic thinker, self-motivated and strong organizational skills.
- Advanced MS Office skills and desktop/end user support

Preferred Qualifications:
- Working experience as a project engineer.
- Previous work experience as a computer or technology support professional
- Previous work experience in a research laboratory setting
- Experience with basic construction planning and procedures
