Job Description

Bellevue University, the largest private, non-profit University in Nebraska, is seeking a full-time faculty member to fill the Assistant Professor Cybersecurity position in the College of Science and Technology. This position requires an experienced Information Assurance professional and educator. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate expertise in many areas of Information Assurance, including risk management, security architecture, security management, network security, penetration testing, computer forensics, access control, business continuity & disaster recovery, cryptography, regulatory compliance, operations security, and physical security. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the NSA & DHS Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE CDE) certification process, and have a strong network of affiliations within the Cybersecurity field.



Performance Functions:

Enthusiastically teaches across a broad spectrum of Information Assurance/ Cybersecurity topics and courses, both in-class and online.
Faithfully develops and maintains Cybersecurity curricula in both online and classroom formats at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Actively participates in program assessment, student advising, and committee/community service.


Qualifications/Skills:

MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Assurance or a related field, Ph.D. preferred.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or equivalent certification
Relevant industry experience in Information Assurance/Cybersecurity outside of academia
Experience in teaching and curriculum development across a broad spectrum of Information Assurance/Cybersecurity topics and courses
A commitment to excellence in teaching and scholastic activities
