Registered Nurse - Endo Per Diem

The successful candidate:

• Knowledge of endoscopy procedures, techniques, symptoms and complications of endoscopy, anesthesia and consequent nursing interventions.
• Knowledge of endoscopy instruments and specialty equipment to include use, handling, and care; may prepare instruments and setup for procedures
• Thorough knowledge of and ability to implement principles of aseptic technique. Knowledge of basic infection control practices; Performs or assists others to perform proper aseptic techniques, isolation procedures, and infection control measures.
• Able to recognize emergency situations and assist in corrective actions.
• Ability to care for patients with IV lines, central lines, and ports.
• Understanding of proper positioning and HAPI prevention techniques
• Recognize and report hazardous equipment; remove defective equipment from patient use
• Delivers designated nursing interventions to assigned patients that are consistent with the stated medical plan of care.
• Documents nursing care in all assigned patient records.
• Properly obtain, label, manage, and document patient specimens
• Monitors medical supply usage in endoscopy and collaborates with materials management for ordering and appropriate restocking

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • 1 year experience in Endoscopy
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent
  • Arizona Registered Nurse License or a Registered Nurse License form a Compact State
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification-an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training site, American Safety & Health Institute, or Red Cross BLS certification is required upon hire. If their current certification does not meet the guidelines, stakeholders will have (30) days from the date of hire to acquire an initial BLS course and will be required to renew every two years.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification-• Stakeholders will have thirty (30) days from the date of hire to acquire American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification and will need to be renewed every two years. Will not be allowed to provide ACLS for patients independently until AHA ACLS cards are obtained.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $31.90 - $52.55 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
