Job Function:

Direct all phases of the strength and conditioning program for the men's and women's basketball programs.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution by date of employment.

Preferred Education:

Master’s degree in physical education, biomechanics, or related field.

Minimum Experience:

Two years of experience in strength and conditioning coaching.

Preferred Experience:

Three years of experience in Division I Athletics.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide proper instruction and supervision of techniques and safety procedures for the strength and condition program for the men's and women's basketball programs.
  • Supervise the proper maintenance and care of all equipment, along with maintenance documentation.
  • Determine supplies and equipment needs for appropriate area; follow proper purchasing procedures.
  • Supervise and educate interns in the sports performance program.
  • Attend annual convention and maintain proper certification.
  • Analyze needs, design, and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for the men's and women's basketball programs.
  • Implement new developments, techniques, and programs for strength and conditioning.
  • Coordinate with the athletic training staff and sport coaches, in regard to programs for injured and rehabilitated athletes.
  • Establish system for weight room usage and scheduling in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Show commitment to and responsibility for adherence to all rules and regulations of Ball State University, the Mid-American Conference, and the NCAA.
  • Determine nutritional education needs for the basketball programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
