Saint Mary's College seeks to hire a per-course adjunct faculty member to teach Art History 201, Western Art Survey, in the undergraduate program in Fall 2024.
This course will be taught in person, on campus.
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 11:40am-1:20pm
This course examines the evolution of the art in Europe and the United States, from the prehistory until the 20th century.
The course offers students a general introduction to the history and methodology of art inquiry in the West, pairing it with Creative Practice exercises. Students will complete an individual hands-on art project and explore making art in different styles such as Renaissance portraiture, perspective and cubist art.
Qualifications:
Candidates should hold a post-graduate degree in Art History with relevant college-level experience teaching this specific course. Please contact Costanza Dopfel at [email protected] with any questions.

Salary: $9,929-$13,744 dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
