Responsibilities
The Deshmukh Lab at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team. We are part of the Arthritis and Clinical Immunology Research Program at OMRF. The primary focus of our laboratory is to investigate how aging influences autoimmunity and salivary gland disease. Our lab employs animal model systems to gain in-depth knowledge of disease mechanisms. We feel this is key for developing novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies to treat autoimmune and autoinflammatory disorders. Over the past 10 years, many research technicians from my laboratory have joined graduate schools in the US, including OUHSC. Individuals with keen interest in progressing their careers in research are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities will include:

– Mammalian cell culture

– Biochemical and cell biology experiments to assess gene expression and function

– Mouse tissue dissection, immunohistochemistry, and confocal imaging

– Provide assistance in Flow Cytometry experiments

– Detailed documentation of experiments and results

– Participation in lab and department meetings


Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree typically in one of the biological sciences and/or equivalent years of relevant laboratory experience. Familiarity with basic lab techniques. Strong ability to coordinate day-to-day work, and follow protocols to complete a variety of detailed tasks and assignments. Ability to record detailed procedures and results. Familiarity with online databases and Microsoft Office. Willingness to work collaboratively with others, as well as independently in areas of proficiency.
