Qualifications:
BTECH 500, Introduction to the Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical Industry, is a 2-unit graduate-level introductory course that will provide an understanding of the different parts of the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. The course will explore the different organizational units within a company ranging from research and development for pre-clinical development, clinical studies leading to drug approval, to the manufacturing and quality control and other aspects of drug commercialization.

This course will meet in person on the Moraga campus during the 2024 Fall term on Saturdays from 9:30 - 11:30 am.

In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular office hours (a minimum of one hour per week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s/Master’s/Ph.D. in Life Sciences with 10 years of professional experience in the biotechnology industry and an in-depth understanding of the various departments and aspects of the biotechnology industry. Preference will be given to those who have previously taught the course.

This position requires all coursework to be performed in the state of California.

The salary range for this position is $4,966 - $6,672 (2 units) and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
