One-year contract with chance of renewal.

Ball State University is seeking a full-time, non-tenure-track position for an Assistant Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of English to teach four classes on campus each semester primarily in our award-winning, first-year writing program. This position will be a one-year contract with possibility of renewal.

Job Function:

Full-time Assistant Teaching Professor or Assistant Lecturer position to teach four classes each semester primarily in our award-winning, first-year writing program. Instructors may also be assigned to teach courses in literature, creative writing, TESOL, or professional writing depending on faculty expertise and departmental needs. Full-time, non-tenure-track. One-year contract with chance of renewal.

Minimum Experience:

Master’s degree in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or related field from an accredited college or university by date of appointment and at least three semesters' experience teaching first-year writing at the college level.

Rank/title: Lecturer with MA.

Preferred Experience:

ABD or terminal degree in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or related field from an accredited college or university by date of appointment; three or more years experience teaching first-year writing at the college level; experience teaching in one or more of these areas: literature, creative writing, TESOL, or professional writing. Experience with teaching or scholarship in (or demonstrable commitment to) diversity, equity, and inclusion.
