Job Description

Ball State University is seeking a full-time, non-tenure-track position for an Assistant Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of English to teach four classes each semester primarily in creative writing/fiction and in our award-winning, first-year writing program as needed. This position will be a one-year contract with possibility of renewal.

Job Function:

Minimum Experience:

Master’s or MFA degree in English with specialization in creative writing (fiction), or related field from an accredited college or university by date of appointment and at least three semesters of experience teaching writing at the college level.

Preferred Experience:

MFA or terminal degree in English/creative writing (fiction), or related field from an accredited college or university by date of appointment; three or more semesters’ experience teaching first-year writing at the college level; two or more semesters’ experience teaching creative writing at the collect level; experience with teaching or scholarship in (or demonstrable commitment to) diversity, equity, and inclusion.
