Job Summary
Assist in the effective management of University Housing Operations. Provide advanced IT skills to optimize the Housing Management System (HMS) and related software to meet complex operational and business needs. Serve as the department’s primary data administrator. Provide IT, supervisory, and management skills related to leasing, property management, policies and procedures, and tenant communications for designated properties. Serve as a liaison with other departments to facilitate program development and backup support to Associate Director, Auxiliary Services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Configure applications and provide consistent and ongoing functional business process support of Housing on campus through the Housing software StarRez.
Assist in the planning, configuration, development, technical support and testing of StarRez. Design, development and modification of applications and integration.
Perform complex coordination and set up administrative and detailed work in the StarRez and related technologies.
Set up application functions and ensure that programs/solutions conform to division and University standards in order to maintain compliance and reach Housing goals.
Develop, maintain and document training program for all users on application functionality, and create and maintain business process documentation of Housing-related functionality.
Provide development and ongoing support for users of the StarRez.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and outline business needs, process maps and requirements to reach goals.
Create reports and dashboards for use in planning and review of overall status and success measures.
Maintain a catalog of standard reports available and create and launch one-off reports on Power BI and Tableau as needed.
Identify problems and analyze causes, take or recommend actions after evaluating alternative solutions; follow up to ensure problems are corrected.
Use analytics and user feedback to predict and measure outcome and consequences of a design.
Perform work in ways that contribute to the University’s successful achievement of Housing goals.
Create email templates, approval processes Auto response Rules and Multi-Step Approval Processes as per the requirements and defined approval actions on them to automate the processes on StarRez.
Understand the functionality and Scope of the applications; Create Data Subscription, Email Templates and Housing Application Design.
Reduce redundancy of report requests from business users by creating daily, weekly and monthly reports using SQL Query and StarQL.
Create user Roles and Profiles and give them Security Controls and shared settings using Single Sign On (SSO) security settings
Required Qualifications
Masters in Computer Science, Information Technology Systems, or Management Information System.
