JOB DESCRIPTION

The End User Computing Specialist III plays a crucial role within the College of Education IT team. This position is responsible for providing both customer and technical support, serving as an integral part of the COE IT helpdesk team. In addition, this role involves computer automation tasks, including the design and deployment of Operating Systems, the development of application and software updates, and the management of Group Policies, all while adhering to UF security best practices. The individual in this position reports directly to the IT Support Supervisor.

Assist and Oversees file server permissions, processes new user account and account deactivation requests and manages mailbox provisioning and administration within UF Exchange. Additionally, supports hardware equipment procurement, offers AV assistance for College conference rooms, and provides advanced technical support.
Design and implement solutions for deploying operating systems, applications, and updates using available tools.
Conducts research and executes projects related to workstation automation and implementing computer security best practices. This also includes managing group policies and print management.
Support by analyzing customers IT needs, develop technical requirements and provide support for software and hardware issues. Document tasks, projects, and frequently asked questions in an online IT repository.
Assist customers in the understanding and use of computer related equipment and software provided by the college. Develops, documents, and maintains internal operating procedures.
Print/Copier management.
Other duties as assigned.
Effective communication is a fundamental aspect of this position. The incumbent will engage in communication with internal staff regarding customer-related concerns. Furthermore, the position will directly communicate with customers to identify issues and deliver solutions through email, phone, or remote control methods. Daily communication with customers will be maintained for ongoing issues. Additionally, it's important to note that confidential communication may be necessary when handling patient data, and adherence to the HIPAA policy for proper information handling is required. Regular staff meetings will be conducted on a monthly basis to facilitate the exchange of ideas, address questions, and enhance knowledge or problem-solving related to various issues.

The incumbent will be directed to:

1) respond to all user requests in a timely fashion,
2) asked to research problems using product manuals, third party texts, Internet search engines, vendor knowledge bases, support forums, and frequently asked question lists,
3) learn new software packages as needednew technology for OS and Software management,
4) provide feedback to the supervisor on the status of the project work, and
5) maintain a professional and respectful demeanor when interacting with both users and team members.

EXPECTED SALARY:
Salary is negotiable, competitive, and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Associate’s degree and four years of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate of required experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
Knowledge of Apple Computers and Linux Systems.
Knowledge of tools like SCCM, Intune, Jamf, and GPO.
Knowledge of basic computer networking.
Knowledge of computer network security concepts.
Knowledge of graphics editing programs.
Knowledge of website design and concepts.
Ability to learn on the job from books and Internet resources.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with users and peers.
Ability to diagnose and resolve computer problems.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
