Summary
A full-time, one-year non-tenure track position with a primary interest in investment and financial management and a secondary interest in risk management or financial planning. The practitioner professor role is comprised of a blend of teaching, research, and service responsibilities based on demonstrated expertise of the candidate in the area of investment and financial management.

The AACSB accredited Allen W. and Carol M. Schmidthorst College of Business is housed in the Robert W. and Patricia A. Maurer Center, a newly renovated 50,000 square foot building. The College, whose undergraduate programs are ranked 69 nationwide by Poets and Quants, offers a wide selection of undergraduate specializations as well as MBA and specialized graduate degrees including the Master of Accounting and the Master of Arts in Financial Economics.

Essential Functions
Responsibilities include teaching 2 to 3 sections per semester (a total of 15 credit hours over the 9-month contract) of investment and corporate finance courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels (including MBA); engaging in active research and collaborating on scholarly research with department faculty; and participating in college and departmental service.

This position is also expected to engage with the Financial Analyst Concentration, which aims to prepare business students to become successful financial management/investment professionals with CFA professional designation. BGSU’s Finance Specialization Program is recognized as CFA Institute’s University Affiliation Program (UAP).

Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Finance or a closely related field from AACSB accredited university
- Doctoral Candidates who are completed all but their thesis defense (ABD) with teaching experience in investments will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications
- CFA professional certification in the Finance area
- Teaching experience in Student Managed Investment Fund using Bloomberg database
- Professional experience in the investment industry
