We are seeking an Intelligence and Counterintelligence Professional to join our team.

You will leave work every day knowing that you made a difference in our nation’s security and supporting the Office of Counterintelligence to protect and defend Sandia against insider threats, hostile foreign intelligence activities, and terrorism threats.

The Counterintelligence (CI) Analytics department is seeking a professional Strategic Debriefer to conduct raw intelligence collection and reporting, assist with the development of the Strategic Debriefing Program, and build relationship with subject matter experts across Sandia. The successful candidate will be part of a highly motivated and mission-focused team of analysts, investigators, administrative staff associates and cyber professionals, and assist with coordination of collection opportunities, report writing, rapport building and training activities.

The successful candidate must be a self-starter, work well alone and as a part of a team, be able to work on multiple tasks concurrently, prioritize effectively to meet mission directives, successfully collaborate with engineers, scientists, and other CI professionals, as well as be curious, a critical problem solver, a continuous learner, and a champion for finding ways to accomplishing and grow the Strategic Debriefing Program.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Be the authority on reporting requirements and identify opportunities to fill gaps
  • Lead, maintain, and regularly update on the progress of the program and collaborate with other CI Professionals and DOE Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence on program requirements and obligations
  • Participate and coordinate CI efforts related to identifying collection opportunities and authoring notices to the IC community
  • Conduct passive debriefings of subject matter experts using effective questioning techniques and author raw intelligence reports that meet program standards
  • Build rapport with subject matter experts, scientists and engineers
  • Track program progress and report to team and leadership on regular basis

Salary Range:

$90,900 - $176,900

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field, plus and (5) years of relevant experience, and or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Accredited HUMINT collection certification
  • Experience interviewing, debriefing and preparing written reports
  • Analytical problem-solving skills and ability and desire to identify trends and patterns
  • Experience in being or willingness to become a Derivative Classifier
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a required US DOE Q-level security clearance and SCI clearance, which may require a polygraph test

About Our Team:

The CI Analytics Department (00023) conducts research and analysis for Sandia’s Office of Counterintelligence that is responsible for managing all counterintelligence-related activities at the Laboratories, both in New Mexico and California. This is done on behalf of the Department of Energy Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence (DOE/IN) and National Nuclear Security Agency (NNSA).

Posting Duration:

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
