What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a Solutions Architect to join the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team to provide resilient, automated, and standards-compliant solutions to help securely accomplish our mission.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Manage, maintain, and support a multitude of proprietary services relating to user lifecycle management and Active Directory (AD) automation
  • Research, evaluate and develop future solutions within Sandia’s IAM strategy and related services
  • Partner and collaborate with various IT stakeholders to design, deploy, and support automated services and processes
  • Partner and collaborate with IT and Cyber Security service and application owners to ensure systems, clients and agents are compliant, secure, and up to date
  • Manage, maintain, upgrade and support server infrastructure and applications
  • Document IT processes, procedures, and workflows to ensure consistency and efficiency in operations

The selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Science, Software Engineering or a related field plus 5 years of experience; or equivalent (AS + 9 years or no degree + 13 years)
  • Included in the above, at least 5 years of experience in the following:
  • Programming/scripting languages:
  • C#
  • PowerShell
  • SQL queries
  • System/service administration:
  • Windows operating systems
  • Windows services
  • AD/ AD automation
  • Version control systems, such as Git
  • Deploying applications or packages to Windows in an enterprise environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues, identity root causes and propose effective solutions
  • A current DOE Q-level security clearance
  • Good communication, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Experience prioritizing and completing tasks in a constantly evolving environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships both internal and external to the department.
  • Comfortable working independently, with minimal supervision, on projects and tasks
  • Experience with:

  • IAM or Identity Governance & Administration
  • Microsoft Entra ID
  • LDAP querying
  • Group Policy management
  • LanSweeper
  • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)

Provide state-of-the-art infrastructure computing systems for the laboratory at benchmark efficiency while ensuring the highest reliability and enterprise utility. Services include infrastructure tools for application support, communications, and need-to-know authorization as well as computing resources which can be accessed, shared and utilized from anywhere on the internal, external and classified networks.
