Rider University invites applications for an Accountant who is a vital member of the Accounting Office, working collaboratively with members within the Finance Division, as well as other members of the University to perform day-to-day functions and achieve the strategic goals of the division and University.

Specifically, the individual will be responsible for:

Preparing reconciliations, journal/cash receipt entries, and reports related to cash and investment activities;
Performing monthly bank reconciliations for several ZBA and depository accounts;
Verifying the activity for various eCommerce platforms to bank accounts to ensure everything has posted accurately to the general ledger and the bank;
Preparing daily cash reports;
Preparing, disbursing, and coordinating all of the daily cash transactions for entry into general ledger;
Reviewing monthly petty cash reimbursements for proper accounting information and in accordance with University policy;
Preparing and reconciling supporting schedules and reports applicable to investments, including annuities and endowments; and
Other complex accounting duties as assigned by management based on Finance Division needs.

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree is required with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or business is preferred.
Demonstrated strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with high attention to detail.
Demonstrated knowledge of banking and investments.
Ability to effectively use a PC with Excel, Microsoft Word, accounting, and banking software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to operate independently, prioritize and organize own work schedule, multi-task, and meet established deadlines.
Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required

Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience

Experience in budgeting and forecasting
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
