College/Department Information

The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class. The educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state and a second four-year campus in Athens in partnership with the University of Georgia. MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provides about 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices. MCG and its teaching hospitals also provide postgraduate education to more than 500 residents and fellows in 50 different Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved programs. Our researchers and clinicians focus on what most impacts the health of Georgia's and America's children and adults, including cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences and behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine and genomics. Our physician faculty also share their expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide.

Job Summary

The Operational Medicine Educational Coordinator 2 will coordinate and instruct educational programs in Disaster Medicine, EMS Academy, Critical Care Transport, Tactical Medicine or similar educational programs to all verticals; assist in coordinating and teaching FBI EMS educational programs, provide direct medical support for FBI operations globally when requested; coordinate and conduct other continuing educational programs including but not limited to Basic Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Prehospital Pediatric and EMS in-service programs; assist in clinical and laboratory research projects; participate in grant preparations; provide administrative support and management of course(s) assigned to conduct including credentialing and credentialing agencies annual requirement; remain up-to-date on current clinical activities and current status of EMS services; assist in quality improvement process for all courses in the industry verticals they serve; maintain Center's instructional equipment; serve as liaisons with national, regional and state EMS offices and other organizations such as National Assoc. of EMS Physicians, Georgia EMT Assoc., National Assoc. of EMTs, FBI personnel, and other federal/state law enforcement healthcare personnel .

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Coordinate and Instruct

Coordinate and instruct in the Disaster Medicine, EMS Academy, Critical Care Transport, Tactical Medicine or similar educational programs to all verticals.

Assist in Coordination & Teaching FBI

Assist in coordination and teaching FBI EMS educational programs; Provide direct medical support for FBI operations globally, when requested by Center of Operational Medicine management.

Coordinate & Conduct Other Programs

Coordinate and conduct other continuing educational programs, including but not limited to Basic Trauma Life Support, Advance Cardiac Life Support, Prehospital pediatric, and EMS in-service programs.

Assist in Conducting Research Projects

Assist in conducting research projects in clinical or laboratory setting; Perform analysis of data and participate in grant preparation; Provides information that includes replies to letters and information for government agencies.

Provide Admin Support

Provide administrative support, management and teaching for Disaster Medicine, EMS Academy, Critical Care Transport, Tactical Medicine or similar educational programs to all verticals including credentialing and credentialing agencies annual requirements.

Remain Up-to-Date on Current Clinical Activities

Remain up-to-date on current clinical activities and current status of EMS services; Assist in quality improvement processes for EMS services; Maintain special equipment required for EMS service functions.

Serve as Liaisons with EMS Offices

Serve as liaisons with national, regional and state EMS offices and other organizations such as National Assoc. of EMS Physicians, Georgia EMT Assoc., National Assoc. of EMTs, FBI personnel and other federal/state law enforcement healthcare personnel.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Georgia licensed Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant with five years' experience or two years' college education with five years' experience/training specific to pre-hospital emergency care and/or law enforcement tactics, or Paramedics with five years' experience and a BS degree in directly applicable field.

Knowledge/experience in pre-hospital emergency care or law enforcement tactics or operational medicine;

currently certified in CCEMT-P or equivalent within six months of hire.

Other Required Qualifications

Ability to pass a federal background check.

Must possess or have the ability to obtain a US passport.

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

Must be an accomplished administrator and instructor skilled at public speaking and lecturing

Ability to work with little or no supervision and ability to exercise good judgment in accomplishing tasks

Knowledge/experience in pre-hospital emergency care or law enforcement tactics or operational medicine

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)

Pay Grade: 20

Salary Minimum: $55,869.00/Annually - $75,000/Annually

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
