Summary
The Telemetry Monitor Technician will be accountable and responsible for the continuous monitoring of cardiac rhythms that includes conducting arrhythmia analysis.
Interpret and document cardiac rhythms as directed by established patient care algorithms and quality assurance standards.
Communicate with nursing units regarding patient’s rhythm status and changes
Communicate with nursing units regarding telemetry equipment needs, issues and or concerns.
Perform troubleshooting of telemetry equipment on the nursing units.
Participate in the PDCA process

Responsibilities*
Participate and follow standards of practice in patient care consisted with national professional and regulatory guidelines.
Work closely with nursing units whose patients are being monitored through the remote telemetry program
Monitor cardiac rhythms for all patients assigned to remote telemetry.
Conduct arrhythmia analysis for patients assigned to remote telemetry.
Conduct a systematic review of history alarms and the scanning of 24 hour data for abnormalities.
Expedient communication with nursing units regarding changes in the patient’s rhythm status and telemetry equipment needs, issues and or concerns.
Troubleshoot any conductivity on the nursing units.
Required Qualifications*
Required Educational Requirement:
Graduate of a Cardiovascular Technical Program or equivalent.
High school diploma or equivalent
Advanced knowledge of ECG interpretation demonstrated by an advanced arrhythmia exam given by the department
Must be able to maintain composure during stressful situations
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart and abnormal heart rhythms
Basic Life Support Certification
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Pre-interview pre-ekg test will be required
