Position Summary
We are looking for a confident Open Rank Microbiology, Biochemistry and Immunology Faculty to join our knowledgeable team at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Morehouse School of Medicine, one of the nation’s fastest growing medical schools, located in downtown Atlanta, GA, invites applications for a faculty appointment in the Department of Pathology. Qualified applicants with experience in teaching medical students and dedicated to teaching Microbiology, Biochemistry and Immunology to medical students are sought for an open rank faculty position.

This position will function as a member of a collaborative educational team which develops and delivers the Microbiology, Biochemistry and Immunology content across an integrated, educational program.

This position has no associated clinical duties, and Morehouse School of Medicine can be flexible regarding appointment (full-time or part-time), with demonstrated excellence and commitment to teaching Microbiology, Biochemistry and Immunology.

Minimum Qualifications
A degree (PhD, MD, etc.) in Microbiology, Biochemistry and Immunology, or a relevant related field from an accredited institution of higher education with appropriate experience for an Assistant Professor (or higher) position
Demonstrated experience in teaching: Microbiology, Biochemistry and Immunology
licensure for practice in health care, and be in good standing with all regulatory and licensing boards and agencies, as applicable
Evidence of skills in technology applied to classroom work

Preferred Qualifications
Postdoctoral experience in the field of Microbiology, Biochemistry and Immunology (residency, fellowship, etc.)
Additional training or experience in educational theory and/or evaluation
A substantial record of success as a medical educator
Experience using innovative teaching methods, which might include team-based learning, ‘flipped classroom’, problem-based learning, distance learning, interactive large group presentation, audience response systems, curriculum delivery systems
Experience with curricular and instructional design
Record of scholarly activity
Effective organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population of faculty, staff and students; experienced in the supervision of administrative and support staff personnel
Ability to provide initiative, judgment and creativity in the resolution of complex problems
Effective communication/presentation skills, and a proven track record of forming collaborative and effective working relationships with physicians and administrative leaders
