Job Summary

Augusta University's Katherine Reese Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The Dean's Office is seeking to fill a full time Administrative Assistant position. We seek individuals who, under general supervision, can provide responsible administrative and secretarial support for the Dean's Office. These matters are often of a complex and confidential nature, generally in support of the Dean or equal-level administrator.

Responsibilities

The duties included, but not limited to:

STUDENT SUPPORT: Assisting with student suspensions, reinstatements, and academic dishonesty processes.

FACULTY SUPPORT: Coordinating and collecting materials for faculty appointments and coordinating with other Colleges/Departments as appropriate. Handling assignments that require a thorough knowledge of the college and institutional policies and procedures. Preparing materials for presentations and distributing them throughout the college.

COLLEGE SUPPORT: Greeting visitors, answering telephone, providing correct responses to a variety of questions that may be of a confidential nature (routine and non-routine) about department operations and policies and directing customers to the appropriate resource, maintaining office supplies and equipment, receiving incoming correspondence and routing to appropriate personnel, assisting the Dean in handling confidential matters related to faculty, staff, and/or students, maintaining the Dean's calendar and scheduling meetings when appropriate, assisting in planning and coordinating college programs and special events, contacting vendors to service/repair or purchase new office equipment, as needed, and serve as an assistant to the Guard House Museum and Center for Social Science Research (i.e. marketing and planning, making purchases, scheduling meetings and events, reimbursements). Providing back-up coverage for other positions within the college as needed.

OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and six years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support positions.

OR

Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support positions.





Preferred Qualifications

Exemplary interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a professional work environment.

Ability to manage multiple projects while supervising student employees, answering phone and business process.

Design experience to assist with creating flyers and programs for events.
