Job Summary:
This position is responsible for a full range of Facility and Utility Management GIS functions. Work duties include field data collection and advanced desktop GIS work. The position will work with end users to develop GIS requirements, execute those requirements, and train staff on using GIS capabilities. The position will research and provide recommendations on industry best practices and new technologies.
Responsibilities:
Performs spatial analysis using online tools and project management techniques. Creates both mapping applications and may create data visualizations.
40% Creates maps and performs a wide range of geospatial analyses in support of a variety of projects
5% Adheres to established cartographic standards and quality assurance/quality control processes
15% Manages a wide variety of project-specific and reference geospatial data in accordance with defined data management standards
5% Collaborates with other IT staff to deliver project deliverables and visuals
15% Gathers, verifies, and coordinates data used for spatial analysis, data sciences, field operations, mapping, and data visualizations across programs and other agencies
20% Field verifies utility locations and updates utility maps
