What Your Job Will Be Like:

We're hiring an experienced SCI-cleared C++ software developer to join our collaborative team in supporting key systems to deliver GEOINT capabilities to both the DOD and ICs. As a part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects, from developing solutions to operational software deficiencies to designing and deploying new mission processing pipelines.

Your day-to-day activities will include collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to understand software needs and requirements, developing C++ software to deliver on requirements and correct issues, and performing R&D activities for emerging mission areas, including algorithm design and analysis.

We're looking for a self-motivated candidate who is comfortable with dynamic, sometimes vague objectives, multidisciplinary teams, and a constant learning environment. If you're passionate about delivering quality technical analyses and products, presenting them to colleagues and customers, and working well in a team environment, then we want you on our team!

Qualifications We Require:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field plus 4 or more years relevant experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in C++.
  • Experience with DOD and IC systems in a high security environment.
  • Active DOE Q/SCI, DOD TS/SCI, or equivalent or higher clearance and the ability to maintain said clearance level.

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Familiarity with GEOINT systems and EO/IR remote sensing phenomenology
  • Experience with image and/or signal processing and analysis
  • Proficient in Python or C++ for support of analysis software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the development and delivery of presentations, proposals, and reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Creative technical and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong social skills, including effective leadership, teamwork, and collaboration.
  • Interest in continued learning and expansion of technical capabilities.

About Our Team:

The Advanced System Program Office (ASPO) supports many DOD and IC customers to design and integrate key national systems that strengthen national security. Working with partners across 6300 and the Sandia, 6321 is responsible for the design and development of key software systems to meet national security needs.

Posting Duration:

This posting will be open for application submissions for a minimum of seven (7) calendar days, including the ‘posting date’. Sandia reserves the right to extend the posting date at any time.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) SCI security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance and SCI access, both of which require US citizenship. SCI access may also require a polygraph examination. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain these levels of access may be impacted.

Applicants offered employment with Sandia are subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by the DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment.

EEO:

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status and any other protected class under state or federal law.

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
