Job Summary

Performs advanced administrative and technical work in support of research initiatives in an assigned laboratory or clinical research unit. Participates in research data collection and documentation within FDA guidelines and research institute protocols; develops and evaluates new research techniques and procedures. Performs a variety of complex chemical, biological, cytological, microscopic, histological, surgical, clinical and/or dissection procedures.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinating between regulatory and finance departments for clinical trial drugs in hematological and solid organ malignancies.
• Conducting literature reviews to stay updated on relevant research in the field.
• Generating protocols for clinical research and submitting them to the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
• Operating and managing ONCORE, a clinical trial management system.
• Collecting and analyzing data from clinical research.
• Managing budgetary aspects of clinical trials.
• Writing abstracts and manuscripts based on research findings.
• Formatting informed consent documents for participants.
• Actively participating in patient recruitment efforts.
• Handling grant applications related to research projects.
• Attending regular research meetings to provide updates and insights.
• Coordinating with both research and clinical trial teams for seamless collaboration and communication.
• Carefully record the experimental process and data and submit timely reports to supervisor.
• Analyze, summarize, and report experimental data and relevant documents to supervisor.
• Perform all other job-related tasks assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science, or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research.

OR

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years research and/or clinical experience; previous supervisory experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

Strong customer service, multi-tasking, organizational and multi-tasking skills; detail-oriented

Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines despite often interruptions, maintain confidentiality, keep accurate records and make independent decisions

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)

Pay Grade: R14

Salary Minimum: $36,197 - Midpoint: $44,500

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
