Job Summary

A full-time position, the SIS Functional Analyst reports to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and supports the functional users in Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) through systems administration, systems analysis, process development, consultation, and documentation. This position is supported by associated constituents in campus-based Information Technology (ITS) and with external software/service vendors and serves as the key interface between the users of technologies/processes and office leadership. Possessing a demonstrated aptitude for technology, this position maintains a customer service focus and understands how timely, accurate processing impacts student experience, cross-functional teamwork, and compliance. This position requires occasional after hours and/or weekend support of operations.

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

SOFTWARE SUPPORT: Identify, manage, and support all the processes, procedures, interfaces, and integrations involved in utilizing financial aid systems (Ellucian Banner, Campus Logic, Technolutions Slate, NSLDS, COD, SAIG, EdConnect/TDClient, etc.); coordinate software implementation/maintenance/upgrades (patch testing, data conversion, data cleanup, user acceptance testing, and training) with IT.

QUERIES AND REPORTS: Design, develop, maintain, and deliver queries/reports to support individual and automated processing of financial aid applications, award packaging, disbursement, and fund reconciliation; partner with ITS in creating support specifications that are best developed within their expertise.

BUSINESS ANALYTICS: Provide business analysis (e.g. cost-benefit analysis, documentation, technological capabilities), workflow design, and functional support of the systems that enhance access to student information, streamline processes, and improve delivery of services to all stakeholders from all offices under the AVP for enrollment management; Define and document business requirements and performs workflow design and training that maximizes the investment in these systems.

DATA MANAGER: Function as the Data Manager for the financial aid data; coordinate with the other Data Governance roles.

OTHER DUTIES: Provide troubleshooting and technical support for all systems utilized within Student Aid; Attend conferences, seminars, and training sessions. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of experience in higher education setting

OR

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and six years of related experience to include three years of experience in higher education setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Three years experience in higher education financial aid setting; excellent interpersonal skills, organizing/planning skills and communication skills; knowledge of enrollment processes from prospect to graduation; familiarity with Ellucian BANNER (SIS), Slate (Technolutions), Campus Logic (Ellucian), Crystal (SAP), and Tableau (Salesforce), COD, SAIG, NSLDS, EdConnect, TDClient, Workday; experience extracting, compiling, and aggregating data from various datasets; experience analyzing and presenting data and trends for the purposes of improving effectiveness and efficiency of processes and/or technology; background in requirements engineering, process modeling, cost-benefit analysis, and related documentation; excellent planning, organization, and time management skills; basic understanding of networks, databases, and related technologies.

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations related to student financial aid

Knowledge of the principles, policies, and techniques of educational administration

Thorough knowledge of the University policies and procedures related to Augusta University

Thorough knowledge of the USG rules and regulations

SKILLS

Strong problem-solving skills, ability to plan and coordinate work independently; Detail-oriented

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

ABILITIES

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, knowledge of integrated information systems

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)

Pay Grade: 18

Salary Minimum: $48,341 - Midpoint: $65,260

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
