Responsibilities
The Clinical Trials Budget & Contract Analyst is responsible for developing and negotiating budgets as well as coordinating execution of clinical trial agreements for industry-sponsored trials, investigator-initiated clinical research studies, and NIH-funded clinical trials conducted by our research teams. This position serves as a liaison for budget and contract interactions between the various clinical research teams within OMRF including the clinical research staff, IRB, and the OMRF Cores. This position also involves regular communication with external parties such as collaborating institutions, pharmaceutical sponsors, other funding agencies, contract research organizations (CROs), and clinical research service vendors.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with research study staff (Investigators, Coordinators, Project Managers, etc.) to review the study protocol and develop the study budget including the billing grid and per-patient costs.
• Obtain additional study related materials and contact sponsor for clarification as needed.
• Review study budget with research staff to ensure that all relevant study costs have been included.
• Review and negotiate contract payment terms and amounts with the sponsor.
• Ensure timely processing of all pre-award steps to avoid delays in starting trials.
• Facilitate contract execution by comparing protocol against contract documents for consistency, suggesting edits to include appropriate terms, routing contracts to investigators and/or OMRF general counsel for review, handling contract negotiation correspondence between OMRF and sponsor/funding agency, obtaining all signatures for final execution.
• Set up and maintain clinical trial accounts in OMRF financial system.
• Work with research study staff to track and invoice for study milestones and track study payments.
• Assist PI and other clinic staff with inquiries regarding pharmaceutical and clinical trial related transactions.
• Assist research staff with cost negotiations and contracts with external vendors for clinical research services (i.e. labs, pharmacy services, biopsies, radiology, etc).
• Conduct monthly clinical research revenue review meetings.
• Renegotiate payments from sponsor and process contract and budget amendments as needed.
• Attend clinical research budgeting and contracting training as needed to stay abreast of current practices and regulations.
• Performs other duties, special projects, and reports as assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 5 years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. Excellent organizational, oral and written communication and computer (preferably MS Word and Excel or comparable software) skills needed. Must have knowledge of accounting software and extremely high attention to detail. Must have the ability to adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines, work independently and as a team player, and demonstrate professionalism with diverse personalities and cultures.
