Position Purpose
The Network Administrator (NA) maintains essential databases for the campus’s telecommunications, network infrastructure, and data services to ensure reliable access for the community. The NA is responsible for updating systems, managing databases, and promptly addressing service disruptions to meet the diverse needs and preferences of end-users, facilitating uninterrupted communication across the campus. Working with project contractors and vendors, the Network Administrator customizes network services to maintain a robust and responsive network environment, aligned with the operation and reliability of campus-wide communication networks.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp High School or equivalency
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
High school diploma or equivalent with 2-4 years of experience in Office Administration
Strong problem-solving skills for quick resolution of network issues.
Effective organizational and communication abilities.
Experience in vendor management and customer service.
Financial literacy and attention to detail for accurate billing and inventory management.
Adaptability to new technologies and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Project management experience, with an analytical and collaborative approach for network upgrades.
Proficiency in creating and maintaining technical documentation.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including off-hours and on-call, with occasional travel for on-site tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
A solid understanding of security principles to ensure the integrity and reliability of campus-wide communication networks.
Experience with management of phone systems.

Description
Operational Management

Oversees the ticketing system, ensuring efficient issue resolution for network services.
Manages network equipment inventory and maintains accurate records.
Updates network documentation, including floor plans and port information.
Coordinates with departments to align network activities with campus needs.
Collaborates with vendors to optimize network services and accounts.
Handles telecommunication changes for new hires and terminations, managing and updating the campus phone system.
Serves as the primary contact for Network Services, coordinating issue resolution.
Ensures accurate billing and service order management.
Develops and maintains network infrastructure documentation.

Description
Administrative

Compiles and updates detailed network documentation, including configuration, performance metrics, network maps, and service records.
Oversees the E-911 database for the campus, ensuring adherence to state mandates and explores strategies for a comprehensive campus-wide system.
Collaborates with Project Managers and departments for the strategic planning and execution of network upgrades, aiming for seamless integration and minimal operational impact.
Manages scheduling for Network Services, encompassing project timelines and staff availability, through a meticulously maintained project and out-of-office calendar.
Facilitates cross-training programs for network services at critical campus locations.
Leverages existing technologies, such as the campus phone system, to enhance communication reliability and system efficiency.
Regularly updates and reports on the E-911 database to state Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP).
