Job Summary

A Data analyst performs research, collects, and analyzes information, and uses the data to problem solve and improve the decision-making and efficiency of the research.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Analyze sequencing data using standard methods and protocols adopted by the Bioinformatics Shared Resource.
• Produce reports of the analyses that can be sent to the researchers requesting the service
• Assist researchers with making figures and methods sections when writing manuscripts or submitting grant proposals.
• Organizing and storing data for future research projects.
• Testing processes, policies, and protocols for efficiency and improvements.
• Perform all other job-related tasks to assist the technical director of the Bioinformatics Shared Resource as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of experience in data analytics, information systems, and/or institutional research in higher education.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Excellent planning, organization, and time-management skills; basic understanding of networks, databases, and related technologies.

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)

Pay Grade: 18

Salary Minimum: $48,341 - Midpoint: $65,260

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
