Responsibilities
New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in Jonesboro, Arkansas is currently recruiting for a Medical Assistant.

Obtain patient health history, checks vital signs and records patient information into patient chart.
Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by having necessary supplies, equipment, and tools ready for use by providers.
Collects blood draws and urine samples as ordered by medical providers as defined by state statutes. Ensure proper handling, storage and processing of labs obtained.
Assist with data management in EMR system as directed by the physician.
Sterilizes and cleans instruments used in examinations; maintains clean and hygienic environment. Make sure all exam rooms are properly sanitized after patients leave room.
Respond to telephone requests when needed and within scope. Make sure to send telephone request to proper staff.
Maintains medical supplies and equipment in treatment rooms on a daily basis. Prep rooms for procedures.
Inventory medical supplies and equipment, when items are low make sure to notify correct staff for ordering purposes.
Protects patients' rights by maintaining the confidentiality of personal medical information.
Maintain following policies and procedures.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned by physicians or nursing staff.


Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
1-3 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant or equivalent job responsibilities preferred
CPR Certified, preferred
Excellent computer and communication skills
Attention to detail
