General Description / Primary Purpose
We are seeking a candidate with experience teaching both the lecture and lab of Microbiology, primarily for students in the nursing and allied health fields. The successful applicant will be able to act as a course coordinator of the primary assignment, synchronizing multiple lab sections of one course with multiple instructors.
Essential Duties
Job Function
Responsibilities include: the preparation of materials for laboratory meetings, maintenance of course lab equipment, development of new laboratory exercises and manuals, the training and supervision of graduate teaching assistants, and contribution to the department’s service mission. Lecturer positions at UNF have a path for promotion and allow for faculty to contribute to departmental governance.

Faculty Position Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualification:
Master’s degree in biology or a related discipline
Evidence of excellence in teaching
At least one year of experience in teaching undergraduate laboratory courses
Excellent organizational and writing skills
Strong oral communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and experience as lead instructor for a college-level biology course
