Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:
HyFlex and General Classroom Technical Support (75%)

Fulfills the primary first-level support role for current classroom technology systems, including providing direct technical support to the organization’s internal users and visiting external customers/vendors. Serves as the first-level escalation for classroom technology issues reported by Service Center staff and student employees.
Escalates unresolved issues appropriately to senior CSOM A/V engineers and/or the University’s Office of Classroom Management (room/location dependent).
Provides maintenance of HyFlex classroom systems and equipment such as: classroom computers, video projectors, displays, document cameras, video collaboration systems and applications. Assembles, configures, and helps install equipment under guidance of the Carlson School A/V Engineer.
Installs, configures, administers, and maintains traditional classroom technology such as workstations, cabling and interfaces, and human interface devices.
Executes test plans for system upgrades and assists senior-level engineers on the implementation of classroom technology systems. Performs system updates and maintenance to ensure optimum performance and connectivity.
Continually trains IT student employees and IT staff in the operation and first-level troubleshooting of classroom systems and technology.
Creates, reviews, and updates formal written documentation for internal use by others in support areas.
Utilizes Service Center, IT student employees, and the University ticketing system to implement and recommend workflow improvements, issue management, and resolutions.
Audio/Visual Classroom, Conference, Event, and Meeting Support (25%)

Works with others in the CSOM A/V team to engage and support conference, webinar and meeting organizers and/or departmental teams by planning and practicing audio/visual conference scenarios; ensuring events are conducted with security best practices and accessibility for all participants.
Provides and coordinates support for on-site and virtual conferences, webinars and meetings that require audiovisual elements.
Supports and provides scheduled maintenance related to classroom/conference room setup, video recording, conferencing and streaming.
Researches, discovers and shares new and/or improved capabilities of audiovisual components and applications with peers and Carlson stakeholders.
Regularly tests and evaluates system configurations and practices to ensure optimum performance and connectivity.

Qualifications
*MINIMUM / ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

BA/BS degree or a combination of related education and work experience equal to at least four years.
Experience supporting audiovisual technologies specifically in an academic/instructional environment.
Ability to work occasional selected evenings or Saturdays during the academic year; subject to semester course and building event schedules; works with the supervisor to coordinate additional coverage needs.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and bend/crouch/crawl around furniture.
*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SELECTION CRITERIA:

Specific experience with enhanced video collaboration components and systems such as Zoom and Zoom Room administration, Airtame conferencing solutions, AMX/Crestron control systems, microphones, document cameras, and other related classroom technologies.
Experience with enterprise Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) systems; notably ticket management processes, reporting.
Demonstrated skill in valuing and actively promoting diversity in all workflows.
