What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the Center 1800 Operations department as a clerical student intern. This internship opportunity is perfect for students looking to gain practical experience in business and safety operations within a professional setting. The successful candidate will contribute to efforts in data entry and document management.

On any given day, your responsibilities may include:

  • Perform accurate and efficient data entry tasks, ensuring the integrity of all information.
  • Organize and maintain electronic documents, ensuring proper filing and easy retrieval.
  • Assist in the upload of safety documents and other documents as required.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Follow established document procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with corporate policies.

Qualifications We Require:

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5/4.0
  • Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
  • U.S. citizenship

As a condition of employment, the selected candidate will be represented by the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU), which requires monthly membership dues or agency fees. New hires into an OPEIU represented position will remain in the initial position for twelve (12) months before being eligible to be considered for other Sandia employment.

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Ability to handle routine tasks with strong attention to detail and a high level of organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience in data entry and configuration management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
