Summary:

The Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions is responsible for recruitment, outreach, and territory management for graduate business programs at Saint Mary's College. Reporting to the Executive Director of Graduate and International Admissions, this position will support the execution of a comprehensive recruitment plan in alignment with strategic enrollment goals. Participate in and assist in coordinating yield activities, including assistance with receptions, graduate fairs, application evaluation, and communication initiatives (email, text, phone, social media).

1. Recruitment and Outreach

Execute graduate recruitment efforts in assigned geographic territories. Represent the institution at graduate fairs; communicate with prospective students, and external recruitment partners. This includes scheduling, confirming, and marketing events to relevant populations, and conducting 2-3 weeks of travel throughout the fall recruitment period. Conduct information sessions, interviews, individual appointments, special group presentations; virtual open houses; maintain continuous contact with prospective students via e-mail, and phone. Plan receptions in target markets for prospective and admitted students. Respond to all phone calls and emails within 1-2 Business days.

2. Territory Management

Assist with creation, maintenance, and implementation of a strategic plan for graduate student recruitment and admission in accordance with institutional goals; ongoing assessment of strategies. Manage assigned geographic territory, which includes coordination and implementation of outreach and yield activities. Report data for territory; report on any trends within territories; report regularly on admissions funnel for territories and recruitment/yield activities throughout the funnel.

3. Application Management

Read and evaluate graduate admissions applications for assigned territories. Assist in holistic application review; assist in follow- up for application completion; recommend admission decisions. Leverage the Slate CRM to effectively manage applications.

4. Student Yield

Maintain responsive communication protocols including prompt response to inquiries; participate in planning and implementation of student yield communications and virtual events. Tele-recruit to move students through the admissions funnel, including communications to applicants, admitted students, and deposited students.

Requirements
Education:

REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree and equivalent knowledge, training and experience.

Experience: (years required and applicable field of experience): 2-3 years of experience in higher education setting; admissions and recruitment experience preferred.

Skills/Abilities: (e.g. computer skills, written & verbal skills, trades, laws, procedures, technical)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Commitment and interest in the mission and values of Saint Mary's College.
  • Experience working directly students and external partners.
  • Proficiency with word-processing software, database management, and Slate CRM.
  • A high level of initiative, energy, and flexibility.

Other Requirements: (e.g. travel, weekend/evening work) Regional and domestic travel required.

Salary Description $65000 - $75000 annually
