Position Description
The Department of Performing Arts at Rider University seeks an adjunct instructor of dance for eleven remaining weeks of the current spring semester, commencing Monday, February 5, 2024. This position is to teach Beginning Jazz Dance Mondays from 4:30-6pm on Rider’s Lawrenceville, NJ campus.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in dance, musical theatre, or related discipline or equivalent professional experience (ex: Broadway)
- One year of demonstrated teaching experience at the university/college level, company or studio or a minimum of 3 years professional dance performance.
- Demonstrated experience teaching musical theatre dance, jazz, and commercial dance.
- The ideal candidate will be an individual with innovative ideas about the teaching and practice of dance technique, as well as a commitment to interdisciplinary inquiry and entrepreneurial learning practices within the art of dance.
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in inclusive approaches in the area of jazz techniques with specific attention to the equitable training of future performers.

- Master’s degree in dance, musical theatre, or related discipline
