Responsibilities
Perform perimeter security checks inside and outside of Foundation buildings. Monitor security cameras for unauthorized visitors and contacts appropriate authorities as needed. Responsible for noticing and appropriately reporting leaks, noises, and/or other signs that might indicate mechanical malfunction of equipment. Responsible for monitoring and inspecting mechanical equipment and securing laboratories, offices, and other assigned areas of Foundation during non-standard operating hours. Monitors gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure machinery is working properly. Check labs for alarms and notify responsible parties. Secure laboratories, offices, and other assigned areas. Responds to Foundation emergency telephone/radio and contacts the appropriate authority, i.e., fire department, Foundation security, police department, contractors, or others. Notifies management of any problems and provides regular status checks of the situation. Monitors building automation system and alarms then alerts the appropriate parties if there is a problem. Assist in maintaining, cleaning, and organizing mechanical and storage areas. Assist in collecting and replacing Biohazardous waste boxes. Assists skilled workers with maintenance, part replacement, and repair of equipment and machinery. Responds to Foundation emergency telephone/radio and contacts appropriate authorities. Maintains a safe work environment by following safety rules and federal regulations.
Must be willing and able to work effectively independently due to nature of work hours. Performs physical activities to include bending, stretching, twisting, reaching, installing, lifting, balancing, mobilizing inside and outside of all foundation property, stooping, and moving materials. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have basic knowledge of computers. Must have ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult situations, respond quickly to situations or problems and promptly inform appropriate personnel. Must be consistent, reliable, communicative, and dependable. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
