Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree and four or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience. Grade 5 (Hourly)

Position Description:

The Academic Specials focuses on data for internal use and advising students regarding graduation requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Class and exam schedules and academic calendars.

Oversees the administration of exams.

  • Sending out and overseeing anonymous number and exam surveys to faculty and monitoring responses.
  • Creating and disseminating anonymous grading numbers.
  • Assisting Dean on Duty, Assistant Dean of IT, and Law Resource Center with troubleshooting during exam administration.
  • Entering grades for faculty into Peoplesoft

Student enrollment advising and assistance.

  • Providing information to students re: graduation, including live-client, moot court, and law review course opportunities
  • Overseeing application process for all live-client courses, including giving permissions to students seeking to enroll in live-client courses.
  • Overseeing the implementation of Cardsmart
  • Working with Academic and Bar Success to identify and counsel students in crisis.

Primary liaison between International Center and Law School regarding international students and study abroad opportunities.

  • Maintaining and monitor existing MOUs with foreign institutions.
  • Coordinating with International Center regarding requirements for international and study abroad students.
  • Advising international students regarding course offering

May require occasional travel between university buildings to meet with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in university records and registration, student services, academic advising, or other university administration.

Competencies:

Project management; organization and focus; working well with a diverse group of people; maintaining confidentiality; problem solving; flexibility; ability to translate directives and needs into concrete process improvement.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
