Summary

Dr. Maya Balakrishnan is a clinical researcher in the Section of Gastroenterology & Hepatology in the Department of Medicine. She is looking to temporarily hire a Student Helper to support our research mission. We are seeking a motivated 3rd or 4th year undergraduate student or graduate student, who is genuinely interested in clinical research to join an active research team as a part-time student intern.

 

The position is currently part-time at 10 hours/week, with the opportunity to grow. This position is a good match for students interested in public health, health sciences or medicine as a long term career goal.

Job Duties

  • Recruits and enrolls patients into studies.
  • Manages data collection, entry, and storage.
  • Manages IRB submissions.
  • Conducts surveys.
  • Manages Excel spreadsheets.
  • Supports other research team members.
  • Takes an active role in research project discussion, planning, data recording, and presentation, if time allows.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of the first two year undergraduate studies.
  • Fluency in Spanish (both spoken and written).
