The Department of Special Education has part-time adjunct instructor positions available for the Fall and Spring semesters. Instructors are needed to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in American Sign Language (ASL). Both on campus and online courses are available.

Job Function:

The Department of Special Education has part-time adjunct instructor positions available for the Fall and Spring semesters. Instructors are needed to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in American Sign Language (ASL). Both on campus and online courses are available.

Minimum Experience:

Adjuncts teaching undergraduate courses in ASL, the minimum qualifications include a masters degree in American Sign Language, Deaf Culture Studies or a closely related field from an accredited institution.

Adjuncts teaching graduate level courses must have a doctoral degree in American Sign Language, Deaf Culture Studies or a closely related field from an accredited institution or meet the tested experience policy.

Documented evidence of fluency in ASL.

Preferred Experience:

For adjuncts teaching courses in ASL, the preferred qualifications are:

2 years of teaching ASL in a post-secondary setting.

Documented evidence of fluency in ASL.
Examples: ASLPI rating of 4+/5 or SLPI: ASL rating of Advanced, passing a state-level performance exam, submission of teaching demonstration with application materials.

Ability to teach courses on-campus.
