Job Description

Position Description

The Undiagnosed Diseases Network (UDN) is seeking a technical product manager to work with our team to deliver high quality processes and tools to our clinical research partners via our Gateway software platform. The technical product manager, under the direction of the Director of the UDN Coordinating Center at the Harvard Medical School (HMS) Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI), will play a key role as part of a cohesive and interdisciplinary group of research clinicians, bioinformaticians, scientists, and developers collaborating to oversee the operation of the UDN.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) supports the UDN, which consists of the UDN Data Management Coordinating Center at HMS, clinical sites, and research cores. Together these sites aim to: (1) provide answers for patients with undiagnosed diseases from around the world; (2) generate new knowledge about disease mechanisms; (3) assess the application of new approaches to phenotyping and the use of genomic technologies; and (4) identify potential therapeutic targets, if possible.

  • Independently build and manage a product roadmap that aligns with the team's mission and product strategy.
  • Own communication with numerous and varied end-users including: gathering user feedback, communicating new features via release notes, demonstrating Gateway capabilities, triaging and responding to user support inquiries.
  • Act as the lead for support of a substantial number of non-technical teams to answer Gateway related questions.
  • Respond to the varied data needs of the Coordinating Center as well as clinical site researchers via the creation of custom reports and protocols.
  • This job is right for you if you are highly organized and diligent, have a passion for our mission of diagnosing ultra-rare diseases, and are driven to deliver high quality solutions to varied groups of end-users.
