Position Description
  • Relationship development with internal/external entities, interface with industry.
  • Help develop mission, vision and strategy for the AI Initiatives in medicine.
  • Lead, design, implement, and maintain AI product developments for use in clinic, the life sciences and by consumers.
  • Seek opportunities to research, design, and advocate new AI technologies.
  • Represent DBMI on a national level with regulatory authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Assemble a team that effectively partners with a broad array of internal and external groups and organizations.
  • Serve as a visible, external face of the Initiative and represent the capabilities and scientific output to strategic partners, collaborators, and investors.
  • Provide strategic counsel and operational insights to Chair and Executive Director on all matters internal/external to the AI Initiatives.
  • Provide thoughtful business leadership and work collaboratively to develop and advance short and long term goals, priorities and strategies to the AI Initiatives.
  • Present at conferences, publish in peer review journals.
  • Develop an international symposium on ethical use of AI in medicine.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required
  • Minimum of seven years post-secondary education or relevant work experience, education may count towards experience
Additional Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated experience in Artificial Intelligence
  • Experience in bringing products or implementations to market in healthcare
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to understand business needs and develop solutions
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, multi-task, and work cooperatively with a diverse range of people, and have strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Python and other programming languages (SQL, R, Java, etc.)
  • Ability to think of project planning at a multi-year scale, while also addressing day-to-day operations
  • Motivation for mentoring team members, colleagues, and collaborators across multiple sites
Additional Information
This position is based in Boston and some in-person on-campus work will be required, and flexible/remote work is an option. Any remote work must be performed in a state in which Harvard is registered to do business (CA*, CT, GA, IL, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VA, VT, and WA). Individual flexible and remote work options for this role will be discussed during the interview process. *Note: Harvard employees working in California must be exempt.
