Job ID: 256578Position: 2000223 The College of Allied Health Sciences, Department of Undergraduate Health Professions at Augusta University is seeking a full-time faculty in the Nuclear Medicine Technology Program at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor to serve as Program Director. This position is a non-tenture track, 1.0 FTE that is eligible for full-time benefits. Mandatory commitments include class lectures, course laboratories, clinical site visitation, and attendance at college committee meetings. The selected candiate must be a nuclear medicince technologist with knowledge of current nuclear medicine technology. Accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Augusta University offers a two plus two-year curriculum of full-time study in nuclear medicine, leading to a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences degree. Clinical education offers a variety of supervised experiences, through which students gain competency-based, entry-level skills in nuclear medicine. Classes are held both on campus and on line, with clinical experiences provided at a variety of clinical locations in the Augusta, Georgia - Central Savannah River Area and in the Greater Atlanta Georgia geographic area.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Department Chair, the Program Director will be responsible for program administration and assessment, curriculum design, student instruction and evaluation, and academic advisement. The Program Director will also be responsible for the supervision of the clinical coordinators and other faculty teaching in the progam. Specifically, the position will:
  • Provide leadership necessary to manage accrediation, enrollment, curriculum and budgets.
  • Develop, validate and revise educational program goals, objectives, curriculum, policies and procedures.
  • Assure that the program is in compliance with accrediting agency standards.
  • Assure qualified supervision, instruction and evaluation of students assigned to patient care.
  • Serve as a liaison between the department chair and the program's faculty/students.


Required Qualifications
Master's degree or higher from a regionally or nationally accredited academic institution.
Minimum of four years post certification nuclear medicine technology experience.
Certification and/or registration in nuclear medicine technology from a national certification board. Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate trainingAssociate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
  • Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
  • Evidence of ability as a teacher;
  • Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
  • Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
  • Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications in CT and/or PET are highly desired.
  • Minimum of one year teaching experience in the didactic and/or clinical setting for a nuclear medicine program.

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.

The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.

Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

Associate Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
