The Liu Laboratory at Morehouse School of Medicine is seeking outstanding and motivated Postdoctoral candidates, Research Associates, and Scientists with research interests in molecular mechanisms underlying brain tumor development. We mainly focus on researching cell signaling pathways associated with brain cancer, especially cell differentiation and tumor progression. Our research group’s goal is to better diagnose and develop mechanism-driven targeted therapies for brain cancer patients. Broad objectives include identification and characterization of genetic and epigenetic changes during the initiation and progression of brain tumor, functional characterization of these genes and/or proteins in cancer initiation, and development of targeted therapies. The lab research is supported by active NIH and internal resources. This position requires a doctoral degree (PhD or MD) in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, or other relevant areas of biomedical sciences. All applicants should have peer-reviewed publications in internationally recognized journals.
