The Opportunity

The Hult Postdoctoral Fellowship offers outstanding early career researchers the opportunity to develop both their research and teaching excellence in a global academic environment. The candidate will have leverage into Hult’s array of world-class faculty, teaching practices, and facilities in not just undergraduate and postgraduate classes, but doctorate programs with elements of supervision and coaching that span across our campuses in key world cities. Hult’s Impact Research Labs will aim to provide the candidate with a fertile environment to delve deeper into ongoing research and grow together with other researchers in similar and other interest areas. The scheme aims to help develop the award holder’s curriculum vitae in an academic environment and boost their prospects of obtaining a full-time or part-time position in a renowned academic institution.

The awardee’s work on the Postdoctoral Fellowship will be split into two principal ways:

Publishing research in reputable academic journals (80%). Research output expectations both from doctoral studies and new research projects aligned with Hult Impact Lab
Engaging in pedagogic work to support the delivery, assessment, tutoring, and administration of UG, PG, DBA, and EE courses (20%).

Your responsibilities will include:

Research

Produce publishable academic research to establish a track record
Engage with a range of different audiences to communicate research findings
Conduct research within Hult Impact Labs and assist with existing and ongoing research as needed.
As applicable, present research at academic, practitioner, and pedagogic conferences
Support Impact Lab activities as requested by the Lab Director


Pedagogy

Complete pedagogic work to support the delivery, assessment, and administration of UG, PG, DBA, and EE courses across Hult
Support academic staff, faculty, and Deans by assisting with the set-up of online resources, assessment administration, groupwork administration, course feedback, and with technology and activities in the classroom and online.

Who we are looking for:

-PhD or DBA (or near completion) in a discipline aligned to one of Hult’s Impact Research Labs, currently:
Future Readiness
Business for Society
Coaching
-Expertise in relevant theories within business studies
-Ability to develop and apply new concepts; able to formulate research questions grounded in real problems and develop successful research proposals
-Expertise in empirical research methods and data analysis procedures (quantitative or qualitative) including knowledge of analytical software
-Knowledge of course and/or program design
-Desire to further develop pedagogical skills
-Full fluency in English (written and spoken) at a native level or equivalent. Other languages are a plus 
-Highly developed communication skills to engage effectively with a wide-ranging audience, both orally and in writing, using a range of media. For example, able to lead an in-class experience or lead a research-seminar presentation
-Strong organizational skills (multiple projects will be running concurrently) 
-Ability to work as a member of a global team in a global community and to work independently using own initiative with minimum supervision
-Results-oriented with the ability to work well under pressure and work toward deadlines


Who Can Apply

The role is open to applicants who have completed their PhD or DBA (or near completion) and have less than 12 months of postdoctoral experience from passing their viva voce to the fellowship start date.

At the submission deadline, the applicant must either have been awarded a PhD or DBA or have submitted their thesis for examination, with the expectation that the Ph.D. or DBA will be awarded by the fellowship start date.

Further Information  

This is a full-time position for 2 years in the first instance but potentially extendable based on performance. You will be based at a Hult campus located in Boston, San Francisco, London, or Dubai, and join a global community of faculty and researchers.
