JOB SUMMARY:
The Network Coordinator is a member of the CALS IT team and is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure and services along with moderately complex technical integrations across multiple systems, including in-house systems, acquired commercial, and external such as I/P/SaaS offerings. The position provides day-to-day maintenance and long-term assistance to ensure network subsystems and infrastructure function together and business needs are met. In addition, this position has responsibilities as a member of the CALS Network Consortium to collaboratively manage networks across the college. Customers supported by this position include CALS Departments, the CALS Agricultural Research Stations, and CALS Administration. RESPONSIBILITIES: Completes routine system planning, installation, analysis, and issue resolution to support institutional network connectivity and performance.
20% Designs, installs, and tests routine networks and associated hardware and software and communicates relevant information to appropriate entities
15% Develops and implements network management and monitoring tools, writing scripts to automate repetitive tasks
10% Researches network technologies and participates in procurement of new equipment and resources to meet program or project requests
10% Plans, directs, and schedules onsite logistics and resources for routine network development and maintenance projects
10% Assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to align with strategic initiatives and unit objectives
20% Identifies, analyzes, troubleshoots, and documents routine network connectivity and performance issues according to established procedures, best practices, and regulations
15% Serves as an initial point of contact for internal and external individuals and groups, receives and responds to inquiries according to established policies and procedures, and may train staff and/or clients

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree
Degree in IT or a closely related field is preferred

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must have experience, training, and/or education with the following:
-Configuring, auditing, securing, troubleshooting, and designing network infrastructure, systems, and services.
-Assessing a range of network solutions and products.
-Understanding overlapping technologies, their dependencies, and the role each serves in the network services.
-Communicating status, plans, and resolutions to a variety of stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Knowledge and experience with project management.
-Experience adapting communication style based upon different situations and audiences.
-Experience taking initiative to prioritize and plan complex work in a rapidly changing environment.

WORK TYPE:
Full Time: 100%

Work in this position will be done mainly on-site, though there may be times where work can be completed at a remote non-campus location. Remote work requires an approved Remote Work Agreement (RWA). An RWA requires successful candidates to possess their own high-speed internet and phone to perform the work on a university provided computer.
