Summary


Aortic Disease Research Laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking to recruit postdoctoral associates to study the molecular mechanisms of vascular injury, repair and remodeling during aortic disease development. State-of-the-art techniques and advanced animal models are used in our investigations. We provide our trainees a great platform for career development. The positions, funded by NIH grants and Leducq Foundation award, start immediately. 

 

Job Duties

  • Analyzes human and mouse sequencing data to study aortic diseases.  

  • Analyzes single cell transcriptome data from aneurysm patients, dissection patients and controls to understand the global cellular and molecular landscape in human aorta.  

  • Analyzes single cell transcriptome and ATACseq data from multiple mouse model, to capture the regulation mechanism in different conditions.  

  • Integrates different levels of data from multiple sources (such as ENCODE, GTEx, GWAS catalog) to generate comprehensive regulating network in aorta. 

  • Interprets data and write papers for publication, prepare progress reports for multiple grants. 
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic,
  • Experience in molecular biology or cardiovascular research, 
  • Good communication skills.
