Job Description

Summary

The Department of Orthopedics Surgery is seeking a Sr. Patient Support Services Coordinator with experience in scheduling patient office visits and procedures.  This position will also provide administrative support to faculty and the education program.

Job Duties

  • Coordinates with health care facilities for patient surgeries, tests, or procedures.
  • Communicates pre-operative instructions and requirements for medical clearance to patients.
  • Corresponds financial responsibilities surgeries or procedures.
  • Liaison between patient and surgical facility.
  • Obtain surgical and clinical pre-authorizations.
  • Coordinates patients ancillary appointments.
  • Answers patient calls and questions regarding surgery.
  • Enters orders for patient tests and obtains proper paperwork.
  • Corresponds with patient's referring physician.
  • Reviews referral data and ensures all referral loops are being closed in an effective and timely manner.
  • Provides administrative support for physicians as needed to include Outlook Calendar management.
  • Orders specialized medical equipment required for surgical procedures.
  • Handles confidential documents.
  • Supports  two faculty.
  • Assists with recruitment activities.
  • Coordinates Faculty/Education Meetings.
  • Schedules and supports processes for the residency and fellowship interviews.
  • Assists with Educational Program administrative request.
  • Participates in or assists with special projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.
