Ideal Candidate:

  • Must be able to work independently, set priority and advance strategy with RO Department Chair and other institutional leaders.
  • Must have the ability to work well under pressure of meeting mandatory deadlines and working with multiple PIs and internal stakeholders.
  • Must have strong analytic, strategic planning and complex project management skills required

Responsibilities:

  • The Manager, Radiation Oncology (RO) Translational Research Program is responsible for direct day-to-day management and oversight of translational research activities and communications based in the department of Radiation Oncology, which includes the Future of Radiation Therapy {FORT) initiative.
  • The Manager also partners in providing leadership, coordination and facilitation of activities fostering RO science, including shared functions (clinical trials office, non-therapeutic research office, basic science faculty/staff, population science faculty/staff), external collaborations/partners, and inter-department/program research.
  • The Manager serves as the key administrative leader for RO driving international collaborations for Veterans Affairs partner interactions, and others as applicable; these frequently are in partnership with other institutional leaders

 

Credentials and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Medicine, or Public Health required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of research experience. Experience must include coordinating and managing multiple projects and lines of research, and closely interacting with internal and external multi-disciplinary faculty and staff to foster and conduct translational research studies.
  • Total experience is inclusive of 2 or more years of supervisory and/or leadership experience.
  • Preferred direct research experience in clinical research and/or observational based studies, project management or extramural grants.
