University of Oklahoma is seeking to add a Director of Football Video Content who will oversee the internal video operations of the football video department.  The director serves as the staff expert on video and technology and how those tools can be used to assist coaches and players with game planning and scouting. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Directs video production for Football by planning, scheduling, and coordinating day-to-day procedures, facilitating internal requests for video of OU Football.
  • Maintains the video server and database as well 60 client stations in the football complex.
  • Edits video using football specific software for use by football coaching staff and players.
  • Trains staff by providing instruction in camera operations and care; video techniques, video editing; providing instructions in troubleshooting user problems.
  • Manages budgets by maintaining accounting and budget processes; monitoring requisitions and invoices for purchases and payments; keeping management informed.
  • Recommends improvements in products, services and procedures by developing and updating a multi-year plan for implementation and replacement of video equipment; conducting regular maintenance program of video equipment; maintaining and updating computer systems and software to control video/editing equipment.
  • Maintains records and documents by creating and maintaining a complete film library; maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies, including serial numbers and product codes; monitoring items which need to be insured and depreciated.
  • Oversee the management and deployment of student athlete iPads.
  • Maintain facility A/V technology.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 

Job Requirements

Required Education: Bachelor's degree AND: 

  • 36 months of established experience in collegiate athletics, professional sports organization, or closely related experience.

Skills:

  • Skill in production of video using video editing software.
  • Skill in some or all components of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

 Departmental Preference: 

  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years' experience working in a football video department.
  • Knowledge of video editing coaching software.
  • Knowledge of video editing software and graphic design software.
  • Knowledge of video equipment, cameras, equipment maintenance and industry trends.
  • Knowledge of electronics and test equipment related to maintenance and repair of audio/visual equipment.
  • Knowledge of customer service and client relations.

  • See, including color, depth perception and clarity.

Supervision: Team Leader. 1 full-time assistant video coordinator, 1 graduate assistant, 12+ student-workers
