Position Summary
The Department of Modern Foreign Language in the Division of Humanities, Social Sciences, Media, and Arts seeks a part-time faculty member to teach 3 courses in Chinese. College-level teaching experience is preferred. The major in Modern Foreign Language offers a broad range of courses in Elementary Chinese (101 and 102) and Intermediate Chinese (201). Applicants should have experience teaching Chinese as a second language, assess students’ language skills using the ACTFL proficiency levels, and follow the ACTFL World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages to a diverse group of students, including non-majors.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher in Modern Foreign Language/Chinese or a related field with 18 hours in the major.
Teaching within an online learning management system is preferred.
Teaching experience, with teaching evaluations, is expected.
Having taught the course or a similar course is preferred.

Develop course content and other course materials in support of course and learning outcomes and adhere to departmental required texts/materials/syllabi, if any;
Prepare, administer, and grade assignments and examinations in a timely manner to inform students about their progress and to provide opportunities which will allow students to succeed.
Schedule and maintain appropriate office hours proportionate to the instructional assignment and provide timely communication to students utilizing Morehouse network.
Utilize instructional technology (Banner, Blackboard, and Starfish) required by Morehouse College.
