About the Department
The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for an Assistant Dean of Inclusive Excellence. UCBA is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio and one of the most diverse colleges at the University of Cincinnati. The college is located in Blue Ash, Ohio, fifteen miles north of the uptown campus, on 135 acres in a park-like setting. We offer primarily associate degrees in career and transition programs, as well as general education courses and technical baccalaureate degrees to approximately 4500 students. Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for an Assistant Dean of Inclusive Excellence. Under the supervision of the Dean, this leadership position will be responsible for overseeing the college's diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) plans and implementing several of the key initiatives that involve prospective and current students, faculty, staff, and community partners. This key administrator on campus will tie together the many decentralized inclusion efforts across campus and be an important resource for everyone on campus, including the Administrative Team.

Essential Functions
• Lead the DEI plans of the college and related aspects of the college's strategic plan, working closely with the Diversity and Inclusion committee, the administrative team, faculty, and staff.
• Advocate for inclusion in the college's processes, policies, and priorities, making regular recommendations to the college leadership team (Administrative Team, department chairs).
• Provide resources and expertise for faculty for expanding the role of DEI in the curriculum (e.g., new courses, universal design etc.).
• Work closely with Human Resources to improve the inclusiveness in the hiring process; conduct interviews for new positions on behalf of the Deans' office.
• Serve as the liaison to Accessibility Resources and Student Support Services (TRiO SSS).
• Serve as the college representative to university-wide inclusion offices and on university-wide initiatives.
• Design and deliver professional development for faculty and staff, working closely with the college's Learning & Teaching Center and the Staff Success Center/ Staff Representative Council.
• Seek out and apply for grants related to the college's inclusion efforts.
• With the Dean, build relationships in the community for the purposes of recruiting students, identifying service learning or internship opportunities, or philanthropy to support historically underserved students.
• Coordinate student-facing events and co-curricular programs related to inclusion and supervise staff who implement these activities.
• Work closely with other areas of the university such as Student Affairs and the Equity, Inclusion, and Community Involvement Office to inform the college's goals and strategies.
• Create regular reports related to college climate and other important metrics and request data as needed to inform this work.
• Work closely with the Director of Communications to publicize the college's successes with inclusion.
• Other duties as assigned by the Dean to contribute to the many areas that lead to student success.

Required Education
Master's Degree or higher.

Required Experience
At least 7 years of relevant work experience including:
• A minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience and evidence of success in this role.
• Experience in facilitation or training on topics related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
• A minimum of three (3) years of post-graduate leadership experience in education administration, student services, or faculty position with leadership responsibilities.
• Demonstrated leadership in equity and inclusion efforts and a proven record of achieving diversity goals.
• This position may be eligible for a faculty appointment within an academic department, if the candidate meets the criteria of scholarship, teaching excellence, and professional achievement within an academic discipline at the college.

Additional Qualifications Considered
Experience in a variety of roles in higher education; expertise in assessment, experiential learning, or professional development; ongoing professional development in inclusive practices in higher education.
