Summary

The Baylor College of Medicine Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery is actively recruiting administrative interns for the Fall 2022 academic semester. This semester long internship is designed to provide current graduate students with an on-the-job healthcare administration experience, participating in consequential projects within a large academic medical center setting. 

Job Duties

  • Provides office administrative, research administrative or technical support. 
  • Gains exposure to one or more of the following areas of focus:
    • Market Data Analysis
    • Outreach Planning
    • Development Reports: Onboarding, Market Trends, Etc. 
    • Project Planning and Execution
    • Operational Planning During Disasters and Downtime Events
    • Department-Wide Standardization Projects
    • Practice Optimization

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited master’s program with an emphasis in health care administration, policy or finance, or marketing and communications.
  • Strong interest in management of an academic health science center.
