Summary

The Patient Insurance Specialist II is responsible for accurately obtaining benefits from insurance companies for upcoming services. The candidate will provide an accurate estimate for patient out of pocket expenses,  submit and follow-up on insurance authorization requests, and financially clear patients for upcoming services.

 

This position is located in Greenway Plaza.

Job Duties

  • Financially clears patients for upcoming services.
  • Obtains benefits and creates estimates for patient out of pocket expenses.
  • Submits authorizations for services, if required.
  • Follows-up on submitted authorizations.
  • Notates authorization in the appropriate area in Epic.
  • Contacts patients to collect out of pocket expenses.
  • Contacts departments regarding missing clinical information if required by the insurance company.
  • Answers help line calls and emails, and assists patients with questions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Epic.
  • Specialty insurance verification experience.
